Tuesday Night Light Ride

Standard Time means headlights for Taillights and the rest of the Ramblers — except the rest of the Ramblers were somewhere else. Red rode round the reservoir tout seule.

This was my first bonafide night ride. Definitely different, definitely. For one thing, one’s sense of speed is altered. I felt like I was flying, but my lap times weren’t that great. I guess because you can’t take in all your surroundings as you have to focus on the lit space in front of you, everything else seems to be flying past you.

I met three lights on the trail — now they were flying. I say lights because that’s all I could see. When I first came up on them, I thought it was a truck coming at me. Hopefully, this was the first of many. Incidentally, the Thomas-Built Bus boys will supposedly be out on Thursday evenings at 6:30 to train for CX.

Kit says, “Ride, Ramblers.”

I pastor Grace Presbyterian Church in Kernersville, North Carolina which locals fondly refer to as K-vegas -- the town not the church. As D.T. Niles once said, "I am not important except to God."
