Interesting article over at NPR on Pixar’s story lines and the absence of female leading characters here. Possibly more interesting are the comments. On the one hand, to set out to write for someone else sounds as if it could derail what has been so charming about Pixar’s movies–that they are refreshingly not self-aware. Could it be that Pixar’s Creative Department are mostly men or led by men?
