Is There Anybody Out There?

I caught Michael Brendan Dougherty comments via The American Scene on Michael Brooks op-ed piece in the NYT (“The Neural Buddhists“) before it was picked up by the local paper. Wow, science finds itself yet again, in the position of not being able to fully explain experience. Is this new? The unsettling a priori question is not whether or how our minds experience the religious or the transcendent, but whether there is Someone outside our experience knocking on our self-comprehended reality and demanding admittance.
