Friday Fixie: In Memory of Sheldon Brown

Man of Steel and Big Red headed out on a Friday Fixie ride in memory of Harris Cyclery’s Sheldon Brown. Lovely day for fixed gear ride. However, my 16-32 gear ratio isn’t quite what I need. Ferros Oxide Scott, on the other hand stuck it to me on four county-city limit signs with his gearing advantage. Not to mention he’s been spending some time on the rollers — he’s growing some power. Maybe we’ll get him on some mountains this year.

After a two hour tour east and south of Kvegas, I kind of disagree with Sheldon. Coasting isn’t that bad for you. The great thing about a fixed gear ride is that you so glad when it stops.

I pastor Grace Presbyterian Church in Kernersville, North Carolina which locals fondly refer to as K-vegas -- the town not the church. As D.T. Niles once said, "I am not important except to God."
