It has been three years since I started riding again after a fourteen year downhill detour which began October 6, 1990. I’d like to celebrate my return to cycling by doing the Virginia Creeper Saturday, October 6. I’d like to do both ways (up and back down, 66 miles).

The tragic downhill detour which began in 1990 occurred just as I was preparing to ride the Creeper. As a consequence of the trouble, I never rode the trail — stopped riding altogether as a matter of fact. So, it just seems fit to go back where I got off the bike and continue from there.
